Dear Softball,

From the moment I found you, I knew you were where I wanted to be. You shaped me into the person I am proud to be today and gave me experiences and memories that I will carry with me forever.

We had our slumps, failures, and hard days, but you never left me. You were always there, just a walk away, a place where I could fully be myself. Somehow, you became both my comfort and my biggest challenge at the same time. Through it all, you taught me lessons that reached far beyond the game, and I’ll forever be grateful for that.

Thank you for the friendships that turned into family and for the people who helped me grow along the way. Thank you for the incredible coaches who believed in me, especially my dad, my first coach and forever my biggest supporter. And thank you to my family for loving me through every single thing. And lastly, thank you to UNCG for taking a chance on me and helping me love the game again, this program is something so special and I am so lucky to be apart of it the past two years.

I know this is goodbye, and it feels like a quiet kind of heartbreak. Nothing prepares you for the moment the thing that shaped your whole life becomes a memory.

But more than anything, I’m grateful. Grateful that God gave me this game, this journey, and the chance to become the person my younger self always dreamed of being.
