‘Queer Eye’ alum, Karamo Brown, opened up about the “chronic pain” he experienced after getting botched buccal fat removal surgery. 🏥➡️

Karamo revealed to PEOPLE that after fans were calling him out online for gaining 70 lbs during the COVID-19 pandemic, he felt the need to make his face look more snatched by getting buccal fat removal in 2021. 

“It turned into a year and a half of pain,” Karamo told the outlet. “I was suffering for years in pain and no one knew.” 💔

He reflected on fans thinking he got “so much filler in his face,” but in reality, his surgery went wrong and he developed scar tissue build up in his cheeks blocking his saliva from draining. 

He went on to explain, “There’d be times you’d see me smile, and it was tight,” he says. “My cheeks would be big because they were full of saliva, full of scar tissue. I was in the worst pain.”

Since then, he’s been to a plastic surgeon who extracted 85-90% of the scar tissue from his cheeks, allowing him to live with less pain! 👏
