The United States feels like a vacuum these days, and not even my comforting sports bubble is safe from the sideshow.

News is bubbling about a new sports game called Enhanced Games. This so‑called competition is essentially a chemical playground, where athletes can sample performance‑boosting options off the organizer’s “menu” in Las Vegas. (Well, where else would you set up such a drug-filled spectacle?)

If that doesn’t sound like a steroid speakeasy, I don’t know what does.
