LIONS POSTGAME: The jserra.softball team ascended to the top of the CIF-SS Division 1 mountain on Friday, as the Lions battled past the La Mirada Matadores by a score of 3-2 in the CIF-SS Division 1 Championship Game at Deanna Manning Stadium at Bill Barber Memorial Park in Irvine.

Lions Head Softball Coach Katie Stith outlined the team’s season-long journey for a chance at title-game redemption, seeing two freshman produce in big pressure moments to put the Lions ahead early, an "unsung hero" that played a large role in senior Liliana Escobar’s success in the circle, and what it felt like to become a CIF-SS champion in her eighth season at the helm of the Lions’ program.
