## Caption

Soccer gave me a path I never could have imagined for myself, from playing in college, to captaining the women’s Mexican national team at the youth level, to reporting on some of the world’s biggest stages. Every step, this game has taught me something. Joy, discipline, connection, purpose. 
 
But for millions of children around the world, access to something as simple as a ball or a safe space to play isn’t a guarantee. That matters, because play isn’t just about fun. It’s how kids learn, grow and find a sense of belonging. 
 
Ahead of International Day of Play on June 11, I’m proud to advocate for UNICEF’s work to protect the right to play #ForEveryChild.
