## Caption

The Berkeley Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation into the death of a woman in her apartment at 1900 California St. 

The woman is a Berkeley resident in her 30s, according to BPD. 

BPD officer Byron White said in an email detectives are currently in the process of taking over the case from patrol officers. The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau will contribute to the investigation as well, according to White.
