More files I’ve been revisiting. This trip was fairly unplanned. I knew we were flying out to Phoenix early but wasn’t sure how long I would have once we landed, never looked at the weather, it was 80 in Phoenix. Landed did the math till sunset, plenty of time. So I got in my sweet Nissan rental car, one wiper barely hanging on, a seat that I think was only attached on the left side as it would move with the turns, and I was on my way. As I went up the pass nearing Flagstaff the weather was noticeably different, and by different I mean it was snowing, which had I done more planning probably would have packed differently, but I didn’t I just knew I had never seen the Grand Canyon from the rim just on my rafting trip. So I kept going. Hell I was in a sweet Nissan rental car. As I got to tje worst weather of the trip I really questioned whether I had made the right decision, having passed a closed down southbound section of the highway. I was wearing shorts and knew I had to be at the track in the morning, so I decided to do what all responsible photographer would do. I stopped at REI and bought a jacket. I eventually made it to the Grand Canyon. I got the clouds I’m alway hoping for, maybe not the light I hoped for but still I was at the Grand Canyon. One of the most incredible places on earth. There was snow on the ground in places and it was perfection. For those of you wondering I did make it to my hotel that night and to the track on time (probably early).
