Kicking off the dream roadtrip! 

We’re traveling the country with @Cocacola and @Walmart to uncover soccer stories from all over the U.S., meeting up with new and old friends on the road ahead of the biggest summer of our lives. With a watershed moment for the sport in America just over the horizon, we wanted to document the work that these community leaders, artists, pickup warriors, talented creatives, tailgate specialists, and more, are doing in their respective cities. 

Up first, we met up with Rei over in San Francisco, who took us to one of the coolest pickup sessions we’ve ever seen throughout our years traveling across America.

@futbolbythebay has only been around for a few years but has quickly become the place for people from all ages in SF to come and play freely, express their creative passions, and make friends for life. It reminded us a bit of what it was like to play footy in the schoolyard growing up. 

For a city that was known as a hotbed for the sport in America in the late 1800s (many of the first-ever clubs in the U.S. formed here out of friends and neighbors getting together) it was incredible to see a vibrant manifestation of that community-first spirit in the present day. If you’re ever in town, this is a group you should absolutely hit up.
