Two reasons why showing up really matters 👇

1️⃣ Because as someone who has hosted hundreds of events throughout my career—from Burberry to Mums Who Build—I know that no matter how experienced you are, how much effort goes into planning, or how incredible the event is, there’s always that nagging fear: “What if nobody comes?”

So when the rain was pouring, the Tube strikes were causing chaos, and staying home felt very tempting, it actually made me want to support omalley_katie even more. I know what it feels like to wait and wonder who’s going to walk through the door.

And wow, am I glad I did. Seeing what Katie created, the brilliant people she brought together, and how much she’s grown over the past year was incredibly inspiring. I was so proud to be there.

2️⃣ Because sometimes showing up is exactly what you need.

I wasn’t having my best day yesterday and the weather and strikes definitely were a psychological barrier (I’m East London so getting to the King’s Road is no mean feat at the best of times 😅 layer in actually trying to get out of the house with two kids needing my full attention etc etc - I know you all can relate to this!)

But I left feeling energised, inspired, and genuinely lifted.

Never underestimate the power of connection. Of being in a room with people who champion you, believe in what you’re building, and share their stories so openly.

Last night was a reminder that the hardest part is often just getting yourself there.

And more often than not, you’re glad you did.
