It’s been 53 years since SECRETARIAT left the world in awe with an unforgettable 1973 Belmont victory that led him to become the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years ❤️ To this day, visitors continue to pay tribute to ‘Big Red’ and his beloved connections by leaving pennies and other momentos at his gravesite at Claiborne Farm and other memorial sites in Paris, KY.

The tributes are a reminder of the enduring impact of the 1973 Triple Crown winner whose 31-length victory in the Belmont Stakes remains one of racing’s most memorable performances.

The legacy of Claiborne Farm and the Triple Crown races seems to extend each and every year, with Golden Tempo becoming the 11th Kentucky Derby winner raised on the farm’s grounds. Today, Golden Tempo will run in the GI Belmont Stakes at Saratoga.
