Do NOT make this mistake when planting in the garden 🌱  I love transplanting as much as Californians, but there are some plants that just do better planted directly into the soil.  Starting with 🥕 because it’s a root crop, you don’t want to be disturbing those roots by transplanting.  🌽 Corn can be transplanted, but it can shock the roots leading to stunted growth and lower yield. 🫛 Peas and beans need colder temperatures to germinate, so transplanting is a waste of time compared to just planting in the fall or early spring.  🥒 Cucumbers are like Usain Bolt in the garden because ones the soil temperatures warm up they grow so fast you won’t even notice a difference between a transplant and a seed started in the ground.
