More than 100 cyclists and community members gathered in Tempe to honor Hannah Henry, a former ASU triathlete and two-time NCAA national champion who passed away after a DUI hit-and-run.

A white “ghost bike” was placed in her memory before being moved to the intersection where the crash happened near Central Avenue and Elwood Street.

Henry was only 26 years old.

Her impact went far beyond sports. She was a two-time individual NCAA champion, helped ASU win multiple team titles, represented Canada internationally, graduated summa cum laude, and completed her master’s degree in 2023.

Friends remembered her as driven, kind, and full of light — someone who pushed the people around her to be better.

Rest in peace Hannah Henry. 🕊️
