Phoenix home prices still have people doing the math twice. 😭🏡

New Redfin data shows it takes 67.8% more income to afford a typical home than a typical apartment in Phoenix.

In December 2025, the income needed to buy a median-priced Phoenix home was about $115,987, compared to $69,122 needed to rent. The median home price was listed around $469,000, while the median rent was about $1,728/month.

For years, buying was seen as the obvious long-term move, but higher prices and mortgage rates have made the decision a lot less simple.

If you had to choose right now, are you buying or renting in Phoenix?
