Doors Open Ottawa is back this weekend, and some of the city’s most iconic buildings are opening their doors to the public for free! 🏛️

I’ve always loved this event, and here are my recommendations so you don’t waste time figuring out where to go:

📌 Parliamentary Precinct Rehabilitation, (111 Wellington St) Learn about the extensive work that has been underway since 2019.

📌 Supreme Court of Canada (301 Wellington St): This will be one of your last chances to visit before renovations begin later this year. Doors Open visitors will be able to step inside the main courtroom.

📌 Christ Church Cathedral (414 Sparks St): One of the oldest churches in Ottawa.

📌 Ottawa Jail Hostel (75 Nicholas St): Learn the story of the old Ottawa jail, now transformed into a museum and hostel.

📌 Laurier House National Historic Site (335 Laurier Ave E): Two Prime Ministers lived in this historic mansion.

📌 Commissariat Building / Bytown Museum (1 Canal Lane)

📌 French Embassy in Canada (42 Sussex Drive. *Requires registration in advance)

📌 Diefenbunker Museum (3929 Carp Rd. *Requires registration in advance)

📌 Cumberland Heritage Village Museum (2940 Old Montreal Road)

A free shuttle will run between the following locations every 20–25 minutes:

* City Hall
* Laurier House
* Rideau Hall
* Royal Canadian Mint
* Library and Archives Canada
* Bayview Station Road (Saturday only)
* The Gladstone Theatre (Little Italy)
* Centretown Mosque (397 Kent St)

There will be a second route on Sunday only:
* Vanier Museoparc
* Cumberland Heritage Village Museum

From hidden architectural gems to historic landmarks, this is one of the rare weekends when you can actually step inside places you normally just walk past.

Comment ‘DOORS’ and I’ll send you the link with all the participating buildings so you can plan your visit.

Save this if you’re heading out this weekend 👇
