Just a stroll through the ByWard Market or Sparks Street will show you gorgeous stone buildings, historic façades, old churches, hidden courtyards, and architectural details from the 1800s that most people walk past without noticing.

No, Ottawa is not a huge modern metropolis like its big brother Toronto… but it’s historical, elegant, and full of character. And honestly, that’s what makes it special.

➡️ Did you know many of these architectural jewels will open to the public during Doors Open Ottawa on June 6 and 7?

Historical buildings, embassies, churches, institutions, and other spaces that are normally closed to the public will open their doors for just two days.

It’s one of the best opportunities to explore the city and learn more about Ottawa’s history and architecture.
