1. Family–work balance.

Do you ever feel like life is just work, work, and more work? Not in Ottawa. I love how the lifestyle here allows people to finish work and actually enjoy quality time with family or friends. Go for a walk, grab a coffee, or head to the beach in the summer.

2. Urban life + nature.

One of the first things that amazed me about Ottawa is how perfectly it blends city life with nature. You’re never far from green spaces. Rivers, waterfalls, forests, all right in the middle of our neighbourhoods.

3. A low-stress way of living.

Ottawa feels much more relaxed compared to other big cities. Traffic is pretty manageable, and you don’t spend hours just getting from one end of the city to the other. People aren’t constantly rushing. You can even feel it in the way people greet you in stores. No one seems in a hurry here.
