REMEMBRANCE DAY EVENTS

Every November 11, Canada remembers and pays tribute to the Canadians who lost their lives in wars and peacekeeping missions.

Here are some of the special events scheduled for this year:

🌺 National Remembrance Day Ceremony

This is the most significant ceremony, taking place at the National War Memorial. It begins at 10:30 a.m. with the Veterans’ Marching Contingent and concludes with the Veterans’ March-Past at 11:30 a.m. The ceremony will be broadcast live.
📍 Elgin St. and Wellington St.

🌺 Remembrance Day Service

Members of the military community in the National Capital Region, along with their families, friends, and anyone wishing to show support for the Canadian Armed Forces, are invited to attend the Remembrance Day Ceremony at Beechwood Cemetery, home of the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces.
📍 280 Beechwood Ave.

🌺 Memorial Hall Visitation and Livestream

At the Canadian War Museum, at exactly 11 a.m., a beam of sunlight shines through a small window in Memorial Hall to illuminate the headstone representing Canada’s Unknown Soldier. A limited number of free tickets are available starting at 9 a.m. at the Information Desk. No reservations are permitted.
📍 Canadian War Museum, 1 Vimy Place

🌺 The Canadian War Museum, the Canadian Museum of History, and the National Gallery of Canada will also offer free admission on November 11.
