Aroldis Chapman is a Cuban professional baseball pitcher widely regarded as one of the hardest throwers in baseball history. He made his MLB debut in 2010 and quickly became famous for his elite velocity, earning the nickname “The Cuban Missile.” Throughout his career, he has been selected to multiple All-Star Games and has won two World Series titles. 

Chapman holds the MLB record for the fastest pitch ever recorded: 105.8 mph (170.3 km/h), thrown on September 24, 2010. More than a decade later, he is still reaching speeds above 100 mph, an extremely rare achievement for a pitcher in his late 30s. Several of the fastest pitches ever tracked in MLB history belong to him. 

What makes Chapman’s career even more remarkable is his durability. Despite throwing harder than almost anyone in baseball history, he has avoided the major arm surgeries that many power pitchers undergo, including Tommy John surgery. His longevity and ability to maintain elite velocity have made him one of the most unique relief pitchers the sport has ever seen.
