Cinco de Mayo is a holiday celebrated across the United States and parts of Mexico every year commemorating Mexico’s victory in the 1862 Battle of Puebla.

The holiday isn’t widely celebrated in Mexico but exists as an annual celebration of Mexican culture in the United States. Events across the city will commemorate the celebration.

Visit HoustonPublicMedia.org for a list of how to celebrate in Houston this weekend.
