It all adds up to Houston being the riskiest city in the United States to be a homeowner, according to a nonprofit that provides data, expertise, and other resources to insurance customers.
 
ClaimGuide.org, in a report released in January, ranked America’s 170 most populous cities from most risky to least risky, utilizing several insurance-based factors that affect the cost and availability of homeowners insurance policies in a region.
 
Houston topped the list and was the only Texas city among the top 10.
