Space City becomes "Sports City" for 2024 as it will host four major sporting events, starting with the College Football Playoff National Championship game in January. 

Following the college football game, Shell Energy Stadium will host six games of the inaugural 2024 Concacaf Women's Gold Cup. The games will be played across three match days starting Feb. 22.

Houston’s longstanding professional golf tournament has been moved from the fall to the spring in 2024 at Memorial Park Gold Course. 

Finally, Houston has been chosen to host three Copa America games at NRG stadium. Mexico will open the set of Houston games on June 22.
