Mayor Sylvester Turner and comedian Mo Amer celebrated Houston’s 713 Day announcing a special fall event at Bayou Music Center. 
 
Amer is a Houston native and a product of Alief ISD. He said a portion of the proceeds will go towards Hastings High School Theater Department, the program that made a major impact in his life as a student
 
The special event will take place on September 16 in celebration of Houston’s Mo Amer Day.
