Filmmaker John Waters, once known for his intentionally grotesque underground movies such as "Pink Flamingos," brings his latest one-man show to Houston. With the mainstream success of his film "Hairspray" and his long career in the industry, attitudes towards him have changed.

Waters will perform at the Wortham Center's Cullen Theater this Friday night at 7:30, being billed as part of his "End of the World" tour. In a recent interview, Waters reflected on his newfound respectability, jokingly saying, "I'm so respectable (now) I could puke!"
