Ukraine has launched a programme called "Logistics Lockdown" — a dedicated campaign using medium-range AI-guided drones to target Russian military supply routes, fuel depots, warehouses, and command posts deep behind the contact line.⁣
⁣
Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the initiative on May 27, allocating approximately $113 million to the highest-performing military units for drone procurement. The programme builds on a months-long campaign that Ukraine says has quadrupled strikes on Russian logistics at operational depth.⁣
⁣
The effects are already visible on the ground. Fuel rationing has been introduced across Crimea and Sevastopol following disruptions to the main land supply corridor — Russian-installed Governor Aksyonov said the situation is expected to normalise within 30 days. ⁣
⁣
Russian refinery output fell to its lowest level since 2009 in May, according to analytics firm OilX, after at least 16 drone strikes on Russian oil facilities — the highest monthly total recorded. Russia has banned petrol and jet fuel exports in response.⁣
⁣
Russia's Kremlin spokesman said the government sees no risk of nationwide fuel shortages and attributed some refinery slowdowns to seasonal maintenance. Russian officials say they are working to restore fuel supplies and stabilize logistics.⁣
⁣
Ukraine says the programme will be scaled up through centralised procurement tenders this summer.⁣
