In a grand 80th Anniversary ceremony, Italy's President Sergio Matterella laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier’s Memorial Monument, and watched a giant tricolor flag being unfurled on Rome’s iconic Colosseum.⁣

The event also included a performance by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, a military parade and a flyover by the Italian Air Force.⁣
