Superior Donuts was a CBS sitcom that aired from 2017 to 2018, based on Tracy Letts’ play, about a gruff, old-school Chicago donut shop owner (Judd Hirsch) who reluctantly hires a young, ambitious employee (Jermaine Fowler) to help modernize the business and keep it from being pushed out by gentrification. The show, which also starred Katey Sagal as a police officer, ran for two seasons before being canceled by CBS.
