But what about preparing the rest of the pitch?
Here’s your morning minute…
Take a look at this robot preparing the soccer field at UC Santa Barbara—which is hosting the Aussie soccer team.
It can paint a field in just 23 minutes.
The job usually takes a team hours to complete.
The robot is about the size of a microwave, but it can be controlled with a tablet.
 
Mexican soccer fans are getting ready for big celebrations at the World Cup.
Take a look as they tried to set a new world record for doing the wave!
Visitors for the World Cup were invited to participate.
There’s no word on whether they set a new record.
But we do know Mexico City will host World Cup matches starting Thursday.
 
And while Mexico chose a jaguar as its mascot this World Cup… there’s another unofficial mascot taking much of the spotlight…
It’s the axolotl—a type of salamander native to Mexico.
You’ll see the amphibian on murals, subway cars and even in a sculpture, mid-dribble.
While it’s cute- the science community is absolutely enthralled with the creature.
It can regrow limbs and even parts of its brain.
