Microsoft founder #BillGates says the majority of the Gates Foundation’s planned $200B spending over the next 20 years will go toward Africa‼️

The foundation announced that it expects to spend more than $200B by 2045, using its endowment and Gates’ future contributions, before closing its doors at the end of that year.

Speaking at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Gates said the funding will focus on health, education, poverty reduction, and fighting deadly infectious diseases.

“I recently made a commitment that my wealth will be given away over the next 20 years. The majority of that funding will be spent on helping you address challenges here in Africa,” Gates said.

He also urged young African innovators to think about how AI could be used to improve healthcare, education, and agriculture across the continent.
