Prince’s favorite cheesecake has a new brick-and-mortar home in the Twin Cities area. 

cheesecakefunk is now open in Excelsior. The shop got its start when owner Vanessa Drews worked at Paisley Park and brought her signature turtle cheesecake in for the staff. Prince tried it and loved it so much he referenced it as “Cheesecake Funk” and the name stuck. 

Vanessa has been making cheesecakes to order and for local restaurants for years. Now you can come in to get full cheesecakes, slices, mini cheesecakes and more. Order full cheesecakes ahead for pick up and continue to enjoy slices at local restaurants.
