Willow is mourning Giles 💔

Alyson Hannigan paid tribute to #BuffyTheVampireSlayer costar Anthony Head after the actor died at 72 from complications due to pneumonia, according to his family.

alysonhannigan wrote on Instagram: "This cut is so deep I fear it can never heal. 💔 Oh Tonal…I am so grateful to have had you in my life! I want to say a million wonderful things about you and yet I can’t seem to find the words that would do you justice. I love you so much and will miss you forever. RIP"

Though Head's Rupert Giles was primarily the Watcher in charge of overseeing Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy Summers, he had a complex but deeply heartfelt relationship with Hannigan's Willow Rosenberg, both magic users. Giles was often a mentor to the young witch, though things took a more serious turn when Willow succumbed to darker magicks (e.g. the "Dark Willow" saga of season 6).
