I've been thinking about this all day. I joined the #blackouttuesday to re-evaluate myself. Have I really done anything to combat racism?  Do I call it out and educate those who need it?
Have I shared information that can help bring meaningful and positive change?

My conclusion: No. And it stings me.

I'm sorry I didn't speak up when I should have. I know I love everyone regardless of their skin color, but I can't ignore my faults.
I will admit that I haven't called out the racism happening around us. I see it on the news, on social media, and a few times I've personally experienced it myself.

It was easier for me to ignore it because I couldn't find the courage to face it. But today, I see the faces of our young generation taking a stand and supporting real change in this Country. I am encouraged by the tenacity and strength of all ages and races, joining together for a common goal. They inspire me to do better.

I will NEVER understand what a black man or woman feels like living in this Country today. I will do everything in my power to help make it better. 

It is my (our) human duty to take a stand and speak out against injustice and racial inequality. 

Join me and share the information in my post on how to help right now. Let's get educated and have honest conversations about the injustices that happen to black men, women, and children in our Country. Because enough is enough, and only WE can stop the pain and senseless killings!
