NBC News cameras saw crews starting to refill the pool on Thursday, but the large basin took multiple days to fill completely.⁠

President Donald Trump had the landmark renovated with a new coating, in a color he calls “American flag blue.”⁠
⁠
Trump said the project’s cost was between $1.5 million and $2 million. But contracts for the project total $14.8 million, The Washington Post reported.⁠
