## Caption

Along some parts of New Zealand's coast, powerful winds constantly push against trees, shaping them over many years. Instead of growing straight upward, many develop a bent or sideways appearance. This unusual form is a natural response to persistent wind exposure and helps the trees survive in harsh coastal environments where strong gusts are common.
