Dawa Sherpa, also known as Hillary Dawa Sherpa, was last seen on 29 May while descending the mountain, before disappearing in one of the most dangerous places on Earth.⁠

His family had reportedly already begun funeral rituals when he was found alive near the Khumbu Icefall, weak and frostbitten, before being airlifted to a hospital in Kathmandu.⁠

While some reports claimed he had no food, water or oxygen, another outlet says he later revealed he survived on biscuits and ice after falling into a crevasse.⁠
