Scott Steiner was the only person who confronted Dixie Carter during TNA’s decline, according to Jeff Jarrett.

“Out of all the crap that went down, he’s the only one, and I’m not pointing fingers at anybody this time, but he’s the only one who went to Dixie Carter and looked her in the eye and said, ‘Dixie, you are f***ing up bad. I’m telling you, you are screwing yourself bad,’” Jarrett said.

“That’s just kind of the friendship that started in 88, and people don’t really know the loyalty and the fierce loyalty, and Scotty really does, in his heart of hearts, want what’s best for the ones that he loves. You get on his bad side, not so much.”

Jarrett called Steiner perhaps the most misunderstood man in wrestling: “I don’t even know if anybody’s a close second.”

Steiner appears on camera in Jarrett’s three-part Dark Side of the Ring story, which kicks off season seven on Tuesday, July 7 at 9PM ET on Vice TV, with two episodes that night and the third hour the following week. 

“To get Scott Steiner to talk on camera, that in and of itself to me blew me away,” Jarrett said.

Steiner is one of several surprises Jarrett teased. Tony Khan sat down for the episodes, along with Vince Russo, Eric Bischoff, and Jim Cornette, and producers found never-seen footage of an Asylum-era TNA production meeting at the Nashville fairgrounds. 

Per Jarrett, Vice concluded the story needed three hours and “could have easily gone into four.”
