Steve Maclin has confirmed that leaving TNA was his own decision.
After TNA announced the releases of Maclin and Myla Grace, the former TNA World Champion took to X to confirm he asked out and tease what's next:

"Last week I requested my release from TNA. I put my blood, sweat, and tears into everything I've done over the last 5 years and I'll always be thankful for my time there. But now, it's time to STACK BODIES. See you soon."

Maclin spent five years with TNA after signing in 2021. The former WWE talent, who wrestled as Steve Cutler from 2014 to 2021, became a one-time TNA World Champion in 2023 and a two-time TNA International Champion.

His final stretch: a January "Feast or Fired" firing, a feud with TNA World Champion Mike Santana, a March reinstatement, an injury scare at Sacrifice (he was cleared of a concussion), and contract talks with no signed deal. 

He lost to Santana again on a May episode of Impact.

The exit also follows a recent on-air moment, with Maclin shown yelling at TNA President Carlos Silva at ringside, telling him to "sit back in your cu*k chair!"

TNA also released Knockouts talent Myla Grace, with both reportedly requesting their releases. fightfulonline's Sean Ross Sapp reported that Maclin had been openly frustrated with TNA's creative direction and pay structure, with much of the roster on short-term deals.

Maclin's next destination is unconfirmed. He is married to Deonna "The Virtuosa" Purrazzo, currently a champion in Ring of Honor.
