A huge patriotic display has been removed from the Hoover Dam after it was damaged, officials say.

A massive American Flag was raised on the historic dam at the Arizona-Nevada border in late May to celebrate Memorial Day and America 250 with plans to remain for Fourth of July celebrations.

But a post on the Hoover Dam’s Facebook page Tuesday announced that the flag has been removed after it was damaged with an “unexpected tear.”
