Arizona ranked 40th overall for child well-being in the 2026 KIDS COUNT Data Book, improving slightly from 42nd last year.

The report found Arizona ranked 47th in education, while nearly 1 in 3 children live in households struggling with housing costs. Arizona also has one of the highest rates of uninsured children in the country, with about 9% of kids uninsured.
