In Buddhism, refuge means more than a place.

This month on our Mindfulness Meditation podcast, we’re exploring the theme of refuge: not only as a quiet space away from the noise and demands of everyday life, but as an active commitment to the path of awakening.

In Buddhist practice, taking refuge means turning toward the Three Jewels: the Buddha, the awakened teacher; the Dharma, the teachings; and the Sangha, the spiritual community. It is a way of returning to what supports the path toward freedom from suffering, while reconnecting with our natural capacity for wisdom, compassion, and presence.

The Mindfulness Meditation podcast is a weekly series inspired by works from our collection. Each episode is guided by a meditation teacher and includes a short talk and a 20-minute meditation, welcoming both new and experienced practitioners.
