This #WorldOceansDay, we’re celebrating progress for people and the planet—but we can’t ignore the increasing threats to our ocean. Climate change is already reshaping marine ecosystems, and recent actions by the Trump administration threaten to roll back decades of hard-won progress for sustainable fisheries and ocean conservation. 

That’s why EDF is working alongside fishers and other partners to advance innovative solutions that: 

⚡  Reduce harmful air pollution from fossil fuels and risky, dirty sources like offshore drilling by strengthening our electric grid and advancing affordable clean power at the state level. 
🎣 Align economic and conservation incentives, so fishers and communities see how their conservation actions result in shared prosperity and a thriving ocean. 
⚒️ Create Climate Resilient Fisheries Toolkits for communities, managers and scientists to explore proven methods that can be adopted to improve fisheries and marine conservation outcomes. 
🌊 Improve ocean and coastal community resilience, so that a healthy and abundant ocean continues to support the livelihoods and wellbeing of billions of people worldwide.

Healthy oceans mean healthy people—and protecting them has never been more important.
