The Jewish story has never been a story of perfect people. It has always been a story of falling, rising, forgetting, returning, being broken, and being rebuilt. Even after the Babylonian exile, the Second Temple was rebuilt by a people who were still finding their way back — many distant from Torah, many still lacking the knowledge of God. But God used them anyway. That is the story of Tanakh (THE HEBREW BIBLE). Again and again, Israel falls. Again and again, nations rise against us. And again and again, Hashem remains faithful, using even our brokenness to bring out the ultimate good. As it was then, so it will be again. We may fall.
