Determination at Play 🏁⁠

For Radley Yeldar’s (radleyyeldar's) brand refresh for sports betting company Entain, one of the world’s largest gaming companies, our design studio type01studio developed Determination Display, a custom typeface designed to transform a core brand asset into a signature typographic system.⁠
⁠
A common challenge we see with our clients is bridging the gap between creative vision and the technical realities of font production. Our role was to provide the end-to-end type design expertise needed to turn an ambitious concept into a functional, scalable typeface, translating complex technical decisions into a strong extension of the developed brand system.⁠
⁠
At the heart of the identity was the play button, a defining element of the new brand system conceived by Radley Yeldar’s creative team. The concept called for this shape to be embedded directly into the typeface as cut-outs, or “notches”, across the character set. ⁠

Working through one of our two foundries, ALT.tf (alt__tf), we carefully aligned the relationship among concept, performance, and readability. ⁠
