Story Book 682: 🧡 THE PRINCE WHO WALKED AWAY FROM A KINGDOM

Before he became Buddha, he was Prince Siddhartha Gautama.

📍 Born: c. 563 BCE
📍 Lumbini (present-day Nepal)

Raised in luxury, surrounded by wealth, comfort, and royal privilege, Siddhartha seemed to have everything.

Yet one question disturbed him:

“Why do people suffer?”

At the age of 29, he witnessed old age, sickness, death, and a wandering monk. For the first time, he understood that wealth could not protect anyone from life’s realities.

He left his palace, his status, and a comfortable life in search of truth.

After years of meditation and self-discovery, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree and became known as “The Buddha” — The Awakened One.

🌍 His teachings spread across Asia and later the world.

His wisdom continues to influence:

Buddha did not ask people to worship him.

He encouraged people to understand themselves.
