Story Book 679: 🧡 SWAMI VIVEKANANDA (1863–1902)

Born on January 12, 1863, in Kolkata, India, as Narendranath Datta.

From a young age, he was deeply curious about life, God, and the purpose of human existence. His search for truth led him to Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, who became his spiritual guru.

Vivekananda never married. He chose the path of a monk, dedicating his entire life to serving humanity and spreading spiritual wisdom.

🎓 Education:
He studied at the General Assembly’s Institution (now Scottish Church College) and was known for his intelligence, philosophy, logic, and public speaking skills.

🌍 Why is he famous worldwide?
In 1893, he represented India and Hindu philosophy at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago, USA. His opening words, “Sisters and Brothers of America,” received a standing ovation and introduced Indian spirituality to the world.
