It's August! Which means we have a new 🌟"Customer Spotlight"🌟 We are delighted to feature the one and only Saxapahaw General Store, also known as "Your local five-star gas station". Saxapahaw General Store has been one of our customers for almost fifteen years (the third picture features a 14-year-old shirt… in perfect condition might you ask 😉). Opened in 2008 by Jeff Barney and Cameron Ratliff, this general store has become a staple location in North Carolina.

Jeff's journey starts as a butcher in Flint, Michigan, and eventually becomes an awakening consciousness about food and its impact on the world after he moved to North Carolina and became a founding manager of the Chatham Marketplace Co-Op. This is when Jeff, and his wife Cameron, materialized the dream of Saxapahaw General Store. For them, sustainability is not just a buzzword - it's the very foundation upon which their thriving culture and organization rest. Their dedication to the principles of sustainability, combined with innovation and creativity, has made them the shining example of a conscious producer and consumer.

With the culinary expertise from Jeff, the hard work put into learning to bake from Cameron, and the ethical principles between them, the store opened its doors. 

As the store blossomed, its reputation grew alongside it. The store’s first dinner led to an unforgettable story of culinary excellence and lifelong friendship. Our own Eric Henry of TS Designs coined Saxapahaw General Stores' notorious tagline “Your local five-star gas station”.
