A former Air Canada captain has been arrested after police alleged he flew more than 900 flights while using a counterfeit Airline Transport Pilot Licence. 😳✈️

Investigators say the man worked for Air Canada for 27 years and served as a captain from 2009 until 2025, operating Boeing 767, 777 and 787 aircraft on domestic and international routes.

According to police, the alleged fraud was only discovered during a routine credential review in 2025. Authorities claim he never held the licence required to captain those aircraft despite flying thousands of passengers over a 16-year period.

The case is now raising serious questions about aviation oversight, credential verification, and how the alleged scheme went undetected for so long.
