i moved to puerto rico 12 days ago. 🇵🇷 what’s shocked me most isn’t the water outage.

it’s how many people have told me this isn’t new.

story after story. decade after decade. people storing water, adjusting their lives, and learning to survive around systems that keep failing them.

for those of us in the diaspora, it’s easy to miss how severe things really are when we’re only hearing about the island from afar.

i’m still learning, but one thing is already clear:

this didn’t start yesterday. but it’s not normal.
