Here's what happened.

Anthropic just released Claude Fable 5 — the version you and I can access. 

It's powerful, but it comes with strict guardrails. Ask it anything risky and a safer model steps in to finish the answer. It literally has a bouncer.

The full unrestricted version is called Mythos 5. It's reserved for a small circle of approved security partners — Amazon, Google, Microsoft — using it to find vulnerabilities in the world's most critical software.

And the guarded version is no slouch. Stripe handed Fable 5 a project their engineers had scheduled two months for. It came back done the next day.

So now the whole industry is asking one question — is this the one company actually being careful with AI, or the smartest marketing move ever made?

Because nothing makes people want something more than being told they can't have it.
