We are still buzzing from the energy at the ⛳️ Fostering Hope Golf Classic, and we have to take a moment to recognize a true pillar of our community: CASA Bruce ✨

Bruce has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) with Voices for Children for 12 years. In that time, he has dedicated over 3,000 hours to seven different teenage boys navigating the foster care and juvenile justice systems. 

At the tournament, CASA Bruce shared a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. He spoke about a young man who, despite facing eight placements and eight different high schools, had one dream: to walk across that graduation stage. 🎓 

When a false accusation threatened to derail that dream just one month before graduation, CASA Bruce moved mountains.⛰️ He held the educational rights, collaborated with attorneys and judges, and ensured this young man was able to graduate with his peers. Because CASA Bruce was in his corner, his dream became a reality. As CASA Bruce shared, while he believes he is interchangeable with any dedicated CASA volunteer, the steadfast advocacy of a CASA is the one thing that made this success certain.

Beyond his individual cases, CASA Bruce has leveraged his deep expertise to help develop training materials used by CASA programs statewide. His "California heart and New Jersey mouth" have made him a powerhouse advocate for vulnerable youth. Thank you, Bruce, for your unwavering commitment and for reminding us that with the right team in their corner, our youth can achieve anything. 

We also want to thank everyone who supported the Fostering Hope Golf Classic — your generosity ensures that more youth have a dedicated advocate like Bruce by their side.
