The past four days have been an exciting time for the Class of 2026, their families, friends, and faculty mentors! UCSC’s last day of official commencement wraps up today, and we happily celebrate this graduating cohort of banana slugs! 🎓 What a blast these past four years have been! 

While it may seem like the end of an era, the word commencement literally means “beginning”, or start of something new. We know you’ll continue to do great things in the next chapter of your adventure! Keep making a difference, banana slugs! 💙
